Dr Nathalie Hilmi, Head of the Environmental Economics section at the CSM was invited to the "Maritime Spatial Planning Forum: Global Meets Regional - MSPforum" held in Riga (Latvia) on 19-21 November. 2019. The "MSPforum: Global Meets Regional" was organized by the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO (IOC-UNESCO) and the Directorate General of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (DG MARE) of the European Commission in collaboration with the collaborative project Pan Baltic Scope co-financed by the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund of the European Union and the University of Latvia .
Her participation in the opening session as a "keynote speaker" contributed to a high-level global overview, combining a social science perspective, to pave the way for discussions in the following days.
Combining plenary sessions with interactive and thematic workshops, the MSPforum will bring together more than 300 participants from around the world to promote transnational maritime spatial planning (MSP) cooperation and exchange planning practices, both on the global than regional plan.
